2 February: 7am - 5:30pm and 9pm - 6:30pm on 3 February (Open overnight)

Other days: 7am - 5:30pm
Remarks:
- Tai Shui Yuenchen Hall in Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple will be closed on 2 and 3 Feb 2011

Re-gilding of Golden Bauhinia Sculpture in Wan Chai

Please be advised that there will be re-gilding works to be carried out at the Golden Bauhinia Square in Wanchai starting from 15 November.

The Tourism Commission announced that the re-gilding works of the Golden Bauhinia Sculpture at the Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai will be carried out from 15 November 2010 (Monday) to 22 December 2010 (Wednesday). During the above period, the sculpture will be completely covered, but the Golden Bauhinia Square and the nearby waterfront promenade will remain open to the public. Visitors can continue to visit the Reunification Monument and attend the regular flag-raising ceremonies staged at Golden Bauhinia Square.

Certificates recognised by the TIC and relevant examinations

Holders of the following categories of certificates have to attend the relevant examinations or activities, and meet the application requirements to be eligible to apply to the TIC for the Tourist Guide Pass. There are six categories of certificates recognised by the TIC:

Category I: Certificate of the "Tour Coordinator Certificate Course" issued by Hong Kong Tourism Board (formerly known as "Hong Kong Tourist Association"), Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) (Chai Wan) (formerly known as "Hong Kong Technical College (Chai Wan)") and Hong Kong Association of Registered Tour Coordinators. Applicants must pass the TIC's written examination on 19 Oct 2010.

Category III: Certificate of the "Tour Coordinator Training Course" issued by Certificate of the Hong Kong Tourist Association (now known as "Hong Kong Tourism Board") Hong Kong Tourist Association (now known as "Hong Kong Tourism Board") Applicants must pass the TIC's written and practical examinations on 19 Oct 2010 and 20 Oct 2010.
