Quality Services to Visitors. Hong Kong Tourism Scales Greater Heights

Over the past year, Hong Kong's tourism industry has developed steadily and progressively, Hong Kong received 49.9 million visitor
arrivals in 2025, a 12% year-on-year increase. The Hong Kong Tourism Board's "Tourism Overview 2026", themed "“Diversification,
Differentiation and Distinction”, highlights Hong Kong's unique multicultural tourism experiences to the world, embodying the exclusive
appeal of “Only in Hong Kong.” The HKTB aims to increase visitor arrivals to 53 million in 2026, an 8% increase over 2025. In response
to the initiative of "Tourism Everywhere " in the Hong Kong Development Blueprint 2.0, the HKTB plans to develop themed travel guides
covering all 18 districts of Hong Kong, ensuring visitors discover new experiences with every visit. Meanwhile, "Quality Service for
visitors " will be fully promoted to comprehensively enhance service standards across the tourism sector.
The inaugural "Outstanding Tourist Guides and Tour Escorts Commendation Scheme", organised by the Travel Industry Authority on 19
March this year, commended six outstanding tourist guides and six outstanding tour escorts. The Scheme aims to commend
outstanding tourist guides and tour escorts, recognise their contributions to Hong Kong's tourism industry, and encourage the industry
to consistently provide professional, high-quality services. Through "Quality Services to Visitors", Hong Kong will be established as a
premier destination for travellers. I am pleased to announce that two of the six outstanding tourist guides are members of our
Association; their professional dedication has been widely recognised.
Training will be the Association's key focus in the coming year. We will continue to offer diverse training
courses for the tourism industry, aligning with HKTB's strategy in promoting unique experiences and quality services.
We will also deepen our collaboration with the HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education to develop more training
programmes to train new tourist guides and tour escorts. Additionally, the Association plans to cooperate with friendly tourism
associations across the Greater Bay Area to develop a "multi‑destination travel" training programme, specifically visitor management
and history and culture courses, enabling tourist guides and tour escorts to enhance regional service capabilities, better showcase the
charm of the Greater Bay Area cities and meet the market's demand for diverse and high-quality tourism.
I would like to express my gratitude to all members for their long‑standing support, to our advisors for their guidance,
and to the Executive Committee and Secretariat for their dedication and efforts. I would also like to thank the Hong
Kong Tourism Board, the Hong Kong Tourism Commission, the Travel Industry Authority, the Travel Industry
Council of Hong Kong, and all partner organisations for their continued support.
May Hong Kong's tourism industry scale greater heights!
